Cable Cars are Up in the Air for Disney

News

Walt Disney World is rumoured to be planning to build a cable car system, after submitting a proposal to the South Florida Water Management District.

The plans, which were submitted by Disney-controlled government agency Reedy Creek Improvement District, show buildings including an elevated 100 feet V shaped structure.

Theme part enthusiasts on the WDWMagic.com website are speculating the work could be for a gondola lift.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that former Disney executive Duncan Dickson said expanding the current monorail would be far more costly than the proposed cable car system: “anything you can do to get people off the roads is probably pretty intelligent.”
