Disney Cruise Line has revealed that the final sections of the Disney Destiny are in place, with the ship’s exterior now structurally complete.
The Disney Destiny is scheduled to set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida in November 2025. With the ship’s exterior structurally complete, outfitting work has started on the interior.
Disney has released timelapse construction footage of the Destiny’s progress, including how it was built alongside the Disney Treasure in the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
The Destiny is themed to Disney’s heroes and villains. During the voyage, guests will meet characters from films including The Lion King, Hercules and One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
Highlights on the ship include new bars inspired by Cruella de Vil, the Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean, as well as a new dining experience inspired by The Lion King and a Broadway-style show based on Hercules.
Also, the cruise ship includes Café Megara and Café Merida. The former is themed to Hercules, and the latter to Brave.
Other experiences on the Destiny include a sweet shop called Edna Á La Mode Sweets, and a new lounge inspired by Doctor Strange.

Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager at Disney Cruise Line, said last year: “The Disney Destiny will celebrate our most legendary Disney stories and characters, bringing them to life in new and exciting ways exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests.
“As we continue to expand our fleet, the Disney Destiny will further strengthen our position as a leader in family cruising as we offer even more ways for families to experience Disney magic and world-class service at sea.”
The Disney Destiny is part of a multi-year expansion of the Disney Cruise Line fleet, which will include a total of 13 ships in the coming years.
