greenloop proud to support earth day

Blooloop is donating to Earth Day’s climate literacy and canopy projects through greenloop, our new conference on sustainability in visitor attractions.

Blooloop is proud to be an official supporter of Earth Day. Thanks to our attendees we are donating $1100 from the greenloop conference to EARTHDAY.ORG to plant 425 trees and fund their climate literacy programme.

Earth Day’s mission is to “diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide”. Founded in 1970, EARTHDAY.ORG works with more than 75,000 partners in over 192 countries to drive positive action for the planet.

greenloop took place on April 20 and 21, with industry leaders discussing the eco-friendly projects happening at some of the world’s leading visitor attractions.

The greenloop conference explored a range of topics, from carbon neutral theme parks such as the London Resort and PortAventura World with PY Gerbeau and Choni Fernandez Veciana to eco developments with the Eden Project.

In a session on cultural change we heard from the V&A’s sustainability lead Sara Kassam and Puy du Fou’s Guillaume Allaire, while Emily Dow from Walt Disney Imagineering spoke about embedding sustainability.

Green museums were the subject of our session with the Natural History Museum‘s head of sustainability Wayne Hitchings. In another, John Bull discussed Expo 2020’s Terra – the Sustainability Pavilion

Blenheim Palace CEO Dominic Hare and Europa-Park’s Lukas Scheub looked at creating a sustainable legacy, while David Rosenberg from the Monterey Bay Aquarium and WAZA’s Karen Fifield spoke about inspiring change.

We also discussed how waterparks can be greener, how technology can facilitate sustainability and why it makes business sense to go green.

We have also have a free webinar on May 19th, 3pm BST, to unveil the results of our Sustainability Tracker Report and senior leader survey, both conducted by ADV.

Earth Day – Climate literacy and conservation

Earth Day’s Climate and Environmental Literacy Campaign was launched in 2020 to ignite “an education revolution to save the planet”.

The aim is to give students worldwide access to high-quality education in order to become “informed and engaged environmental stewards”.

Through the Canopy Project, EARTHDAY.ORG works with partners to reforest. These are in parts of the world most at risk from climate change and environmental degradation as well as areas damaged by environmental disasters.

From ticketing revenue for the greenloop conference, Blooloop will donate to both of these programmes. Our $1100 donation includes funding to plant 425 trees, one for each greenloop attendee.
