The first of its kind attraction, inspired by The Hunger Games franchise, sees the completion of the LIONSGATE zone at Dubai Parks and Resorts.
The world’s first The Hunger Games attraction combines two major attractions, a high-energy street show, a themed shop and a café. The theme park has been designed by Lionsgate, the movie studio which created The Hunger Games movies. Guests will be transported to an immersive experience of the dystopian world of Panem. A replica of the film set also includes exclusive video content from movie favourites Effie Trinket and Caesar Flickerman.
The high-speed, gravity-defying Capitol Bullet Train is a half-pipe rollercoaster, providing an adrenalin-pumping taste of Panem’s futuristic technology. President Snow then invites guests to take the Panem Aerial Tour – an aerial hovercraft tour over the various districts en route to the Capitol.
Next up is a live show. District 12’s coal miners provide pounding percussion, using their work tools to create an interactive musical extravaganza.
The café, Peeta’s Bakery, takes its inspiration from lead character Peeta Mellark. It offers over 20 themed food and drink options. Finally, the Panem Supply Co. offers exclusive movie merchandise alongside other supplies.
The launch ceremony was attended by representatives from Lionsgate and Dubai Parks and Resorts management. Key international and local media covered the event which was hosted by Brent Black from Virgin Radio. The ceremony included the first performance of The Hunger Games street show. A vibrant fireworks show also celebrated the opening.
