Polish indoor theme park Mandoria is to open a family launched coaster from Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist, as part of an upcoming expansion.
A signature feature of the ride – named Aquila – will be a spiral section inside a tower of nearly 25 metres. Located on the left hand side of the building, it will offer a tantalising glimpse of the action inside, also taking thrill-seekers to new heights. At present, all of the park’s 30-plus attractions are located beneath a 9-metre roof.
The cost of the expansion has not been revealed but is believed to include other attractions as well as new food and beverage options. Guests will be able to enjoy all of this from the first quarter of 2025.

Located alongside the Ptak Outlet mall in Rzgow near the city of Łódź, Mandoria debuted in July 2021. It is themed around an imaginary Renaissance-era trading port. This is a nod to the nearby city of Łódź, which has strong links to the Central European textile industry – in which the park’s founding Ptak family is still heavily involved.
A phase 1.1 expansion opened last summer, including a powered coaster from Mack Rides, two Zamperla family rides and a small water ride. The park’s other coasters are a custom Bobsled coaster from Gerstaluer and an SBF/Visa spinning coaster in the dark. Additional attractions include a double-deck carousel, various family rides, a fun house, mirror maze, giant slide, play area and restaurant.
Mandoria’s ongoing expansion
The new expansion will add a third hall of what was a former exhibition centre to Mandoria. This will take the total attraction area to approximately 30,000 square metres. It is envisaged the park will expand outdoors in future phases, Ptak having designated an area of 50 hectares for its eventual footprint.
“From the very beginning of Mandoria, we wanted it to be described by three adjectives: themed, family and year-round,” says park manager Daniel Zieliński. “In embarking on the new zone, we are staying true to this objective. Mandoria will still look like a 16th-century trading town and thanks to the construction of the massive tower, our fourth roller coaster will travel its entire route indoors. This means that it will be available to visitors regardless of the season or the weather.”

Riders on Aquila will reach a top speed of 70 km/h soon after being catapulted out of the station. Passing through a hole in the wall, they will enter the tower, reaching a maximum height of 16 metres. A wild ride will then follow through the historic quarter of the so-called ‘City of Adventure’. The 445-metre journey will be full of rapid twists, turns, inclines and declines. Guests as short as 95cm will be able to ride the attraction, a first for a roller coaster in Poland.
Daniel Zielinski and his colleagues Joanna Jędrzejczyk and Leroy Koevoets will share the Mandoria story soon in an in-depth feature for blooloop.
