PortAventura World‘s Halloween event is taking place over more than 50 days.

PortAventura World is preparing to host the longest and most terrifying Halloween season in its history from 24 September until 13 November.

This year, PortAventura World‘s Halloween event is taking place over more than 50 days. New additions include the first ‘passage of terror’ for children, called Trick or Treat.

And, for the first time ever, the event will feature six shows and experiences with more than 200 performers and 200 hours of shows per week.

“Halloween is one of the most anticipated times of the year for our customers and this was proven last year with our more than 800,000 visitors,” said David García Blancas, general business manager at PortAventura World.

“This year we will be celebrating one of the longest seasons ever, with more than 50 days to have a scarily great time, with the aim of reaching record figures yet again and surpassing the revenues of previous years.”

This Halloween, PortAventura World will offer two shows – Halloween Parade and Horror en el Lado. The park’s dinner show, La Posada de la Familia Halloween, is also returning.

In addition, Europe’s first walk-through experience based on Mexico’s Day of the Dead is coming back to the resort. La Muerte Viva is a colourful attraction in which guests encounter mourning widows and corpse brides.

Additional shows and experiences include La Isla Maldita and Apocalipsis Maya, as well as an official experience inspired by REC, the hit Spanish horror film franchise.

As for sustainability, the 12,000 pumpkins that will decorate PortAventura World are locally sourced. They will be used after the event as food for the animals living at nearby farms.

In 2021, more than 800,000 people visited PortAventura World during Halloween. The resort expects to attract even more visitors this year.
