Ride Entertainment, a leader in the supply and installation of some of the world’s most thrilling attractions, has announced the opening of a new ride at Dollywood. Black Bear Trail is part of the park’s new themed zone, Wildwood Grove.

Ride Entertainment is the US sales partner of Metallbau Emmeln, the company which built the new ride. Black Bear Trail lets park visitors ride on the back of a friendly black bear and take a tour in the park’s exciting new land, Wildwood Grove. The ride uses Metallbau Emmeln’s Pony Trek system, a feature which can be found in amusement parks all over the globe.

Inspired by a love for nature

Wildwood Grove has 11 new experiences and is spread over five acres. Guests are invited to explore the new area where they can enjoy nature, spend time as a family, and meet friendly new creatures. The new land is Dollywood’s largest expansion to date. It is inspired by Dolly Parton‘s love for nature and takes its cue from the Great Smokey Mountains that surround the park.

Dolly Parton opened the new area on the 11th of May. As well as Black Bear Trail, visitors can enjoy many new attractions, including a suspended roller coaster, a leaf boat swing, a treetop tower and the unique Wildwood Tree.

“It has been an honor for us to work with Dollywood on one of our first major projects in the United States,” says Gunnar Vages, Metallbau Emmeln’s Managing Director. “I am confident that this ride will bring joy and inspire a love of nature in children for years.”

Adam Sandy, President of Ride Entertainment, says “working with Herschend (Family Entertainment)’s Creative team is always a joy. The work and attention to detail that goes into bringing Dolly’s creations to life never ceases to amaze me.”

Ride Entertainment celebrated 20 years at the forefront of the attractions industry last year,
