Setpoint Inc, the developer of custom rides and attractions for the theme parks around the world, has been acquired by automation and robotic systems manufacturer JR Automation.

Setpoint Inc was acquired alongside its sister company, Setpoint Systems, an automation engineering firm that specialises in robotics, assembly equipment, material handling, testing and inspection, and induction heating automation.

In its theme park business, Setpoint Inc has worked with some of the biggest names in the attractions industry, including Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Creative, 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros and Resorts World Genting.

Joe Van Den Berghe and Joe Cornwall, co-principals of Setpoint Inc, said in a joint statement: “Today is an exciting day for our team at Setpoint. Our customers, employees, and vendors will be the long-term beneficiaries of this combination. We have found the JR Automation values, culture and capabilities to be closely aligned with those of Setpoint and we look forward to being part of the newly broadened JR Automation team.”
