Speculation is mounting over details of the Marvel-themed land currently under construction at Disneyland Resort in California.

WDW News Today suggested that the former “it’s tough to be a bug” Theater building will house a new, possibly 3D, Spider-Man attraction where guests are given a web-shooter of their own to use.

They also suggest that Doctor Strange will have a show experience similar to a show currently offered on Disney Cruise Lines.

WDW News Today also suggest a counter-service restaurant and an Ant-Man themed microbrewery are on the cards. They also speculate that in Phase 2 of construction, expected to begin a year after the land opens, an Avengers roller coaster will be built.

Few details of the Marvel area have been confirmed. It will be anchored by Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission Breakout.

Details of specific rides have not been disclosed but they will be based on Spider-Man and characters from the Avengers franchise. The first new attraction is expected to open in 2020 with others to follow.

However, the area may not be named for Marvel, the publisher behind the franchises, due to a contractual rights issue.

Earlier this year, Disney announced a $2.44bn, multi-year expansion of Disneyland Paris that will include new Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars areas as part of a transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park.

The multi-year development will roll out in phases beginning in 2021. The expansion will include the previously announced reimagining of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith as a high-speed, hyper-kinetic adventure with Iron Man.
