Universal Studios Japan has set an opening date for its Minion Park expansion, which includes an enhanced version of the Villain-Con Minion Blast attraction.
The expanded Minion Park opens on 11 July, offering an updated version of Villain-Con Minion Blast, which first opened at Universal Orlando in 2023.
The interactive ride joins existing attractions in Minion Park like Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem and Freeze Ray Sliders.

Villain-Con Minion Blast features immersive sets and interactive technology, with riders transported to Villain-Con, the world’s largest convention for villains, as they attempt to become the newest member of the notorious supervillain group – the Vicious 6.
As guests make their way through the convention, they will use an E-Liminator X blaster to cause as much mayhem and destruction as possible and earn points.
Compared to Universal Orlando’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, the new ride in Japan features exclusive content and enhanced gameplay.
Minion experiences at Universal parks
As for new F&B and merchandise in Minion Park, there will be two new venues on offer – Evil Eats and Evil Stuff.
At Evil Eats, guests can enjoy menu items including a donut burger and a banana cream donut. Evil Stuff will sell Minion-themed merchandise and more.
Universal Studios Japan’s expanded Minion Park comes after the launch of the new Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore earlier this year.

Highlights include the Buggie Boogie attraction, a Minion dance party-themed carousel exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore, as well as the Super Hungry Food Stand – a version of the waterfront snack stand in Despicable Me.
“With the opening of Illumination’s Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore, the Minions have a home in each Universal theme park around the world, offering guests of all ages new and captivating ways to engage with their favourite characters,” said Page Thompson, president of new ventures, Universal Destinations & Experiences.
