Work Begins on Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s new Thrill Ride

News
Blackpool Pleasure Beach Construction 2018 MAck

Work has begun on the new roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The £16.25m new thrill ride from Mack Rides, known for now as ‘Construction 2018’ is a double-launch coaster that will weave it’s way around the Pleasure Beach, even going under The Big One and looping round other rides.

In recent years Blackpool Pleasure Beach has invested in family rides and attractions like Nickelodeon Land , Wallace & Gromit’s Thrill-O-Matic and Red Arrows Skyforce.  However, it was only a matter of time before a large investment in a thrill ride was made.

In an interview with Blooloop, Amanda Thompson, the Pleasure Beach’s Managing Director said, “People seem to think that I’m anti-white knuckle thrill rides,  I’m certainly not. I’ve been on more coasters this year than most people and it’s sort of a joke in the industry which manufacturer can get me on as many coasters as possible.”

‘Construction 2018’ marks a return to some core values.
