Polin and WOW Bring Wave Ball to Legends of Aqua Waterpark

Polin Wateparks have partnered with WOW Company to bring the first Wave Ball low-energy wave-generating machine to Turkey at Land of Legends theme park.

The US$1 billion Land of Legends theme park in Belek, Antalya opened in July 2016 and is a joint venture between Rixos World Parks & Entertainment, Emaar Real Estate and global cultural creativity brand Dragone Productions.

The Legends of Aqua is the entertainment resort’s 639, 000m² waterpark supplied by Polin Waterparks.  Polin and WOW designed the 200m² pool that incorporates one of WOW’s small Wave Balls.

The ball generates safe, controlled waves with a stationary deviation in swell that makes the experience safe and means that the whole pool area is available for swimmers. The Wave Ball shape can even be altered to add a saddle and operate in “rodeo mode”.

WOW have created several programmes for park managers to choose from to significantly vary the size and frequency of the waves. The Legends of Aqua’s Wave Ball can generate waves up to 0.60m.

The Wave Ball can be customized and integrated into an existing pool, or it can be created within new pool installations. At The Legends of Aqua, the special shape of the pool combined with the Wave Ball enables ripples in only one half of the pool.

Commenting on the partnership, Paolo Danubio, sales manager at WOW, said, “Working together, our two companies can create many more growth opportunities. And these won’t simply benefit our individual firms but also those of our clients and their guests. After all, we’ll be able to ensure that waterparks offer the most exciting rides that keep guests happy – and keep guests returning over and over. Because nothing is more attractive to guests than an experience that is fun and changes every time they visit.”
