WhiteWater, a leading waterpark manufacturer, was recognised with three Leading Edge Awards at this week’s World Waterpark Association Show, which is taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana, US, from 24 – 27 October.
The company was honoured with the Leading Edge Awards for its innovation and creativity in Studio City Water Park in Macau, Island Waterpark at Showboat in New Jersey, US, and the Pirates Cove Aquapark on board the MSC Seascape cruise ship.
Studio City Water Park
As part of the entertainment complex’s expansion, Studio City’s indoor water park debuted to great acclaim in 2023, after winning a Leading Edge Award for its outdoor park in 2021.
The set of water slides that extend outside the water park, which is housed in an Art Deco building, is its most recognisable feature. Warm-coloured bespoke metallic coatings on the slides add an appealing element that complements the building’s design.
The water park is themed around space travel, with 12 slides that transport visitors through sci-fi fun and an AquaPlay 1050 that doubles as a “Command Centre,” all made by WhiteWater. The rides include an Infinity Master Blaster, a unique water coaster that thrills riders with upward blasts and giant drops while taking them on a continuous loop tour around the water park.
Island Waterpark at Showboat
As part of an effort to boost tourism in Atlantic City, Island Waterpark at Showboat Hotel is delivering outstanding non-gaming entertainment to draw families to the iconic boardwalk.
Across 100,000 square feet of indoor space, guests can enjoy a range of WhiteWater attractions, including two water play structures, a FlowRider Double, and eleven exhilarating slides. AquaForms 12, a highly configurable Elevated AquaForms with 280 feet (85 metres) of explorable trails, 55 play attractions, and a 318-gallon (1600-litre) tipping bucket, serves as the park’s focal point.
The year-round summertime vibes at Island Waterpark, together with boardwalk features and an adults-only section, are contributing to the city’s economic transformation.
Pirates Cove Aquapark, MSC Seascape
As part of WhiteWater’s ongoing partnership with MSC Cruises, which now spans more than ten ships, the MSC Seascape’s Pirates Cove Aquapark is engaging young visitors and elevating the high seas experience.
Combining both wet and dry activities, it has an Adventure Trail, six slides, and an AquaPlay 150. The whole thing is themed around pirates, and the towering hand-carved Kraken serves as the centrepiece. The Giant AquaTube has a music and light package that changes the trip every time, making it a more repeated experience throughout the course of the ship’s voyage.

WhiteWater recently exhibited at IAAPA Expo Europe in Vienna, where the firm held a press conference to announce updates and shared its highlights from 2023, with almost 60 projects opened so far this year.
