Disneyland adding Rapunzel's Tower to classic attraction

Storybook Land Canal Boats is getting a Tangled update

Disneyland adding Rapunzel's Tower to classic attraction

Disneyland is adding a new miniature of Rapunzel's Tower from Tangled (2010) to the Storybook Land Canal Boats ride.

The new feature will be located between the Patchwork Quilt and Toad Hall when the Storybook Land Canal Boats attraction reopens this winter, during Disneyland's 70th celebration.

As pictured in new concept art, the tower features a shingled turret and several windows. It is surrounded by a selection of flora, and behind the tower on the stone wall, guests will see multiple 'wanted' posters of Flynn Ryder.

Further down the canal, riders will see a secluded dock with a boat inspired by the one from the film. As they float past this scene during the day, they will hear an arrangement of 'When Will My Life Begin' from Tangled.

In the evening, 'I See the Light' will play amid twinkling lights inspired by the lanterns in the film.

On the opening day of Disneyland in 1955, Canal Boats of the World debuted as a boat ride. The attraction later underwent a transformation to include small-scale fairytales along the banks.

Storybook Land Canal Boats to feature new scene

It reopened as Storybook Land Canal Boats in 1956, and over the years has evolved and introduced new scenes and sounds from Disney stories including Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Frozen.

As for more new Tangled attractions at Disney parks, Fantasy Springs opened at Tokyo DisneySea last year. This is home to three areas – Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel's Forest, and Peter Pan's Never Land.

The Tangled-themed area includes the Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival gondola ride, and the Snuggly Duckling F&B location.

Disneyland Paris is also working on a new Tangled attraction called Raiponce Tangled Spin.
