Entertainment, Attractions & Gaming Expo Europe (EAG), the premier event for the international entertainment, attractions, and gaming industries, welcomes first-time exhibitor Funk Bowling for the 2026 edition.

The company will present Funk Nexus, a next-generation platform that combines full-size and DuckPin lanes with innovative, immersive, AI-driven game experiences.

Established in 1964, the company aims to raise the bar with a brand of competitive social entertainment aimed at operators seeking fresh, high-impact attractions with strong repeat-play credentials.

The core of the Funk Nexus system is a library featuring dozens of interactive, real-time themes that can be switched in seconds. These themes range from cosmic and futuristic environments to playful, family-friendly animations.

Each experience is designed to help operators maintain engaging gameplay, increase dwell time, and encourage repeat visits.

Reimagining bowling

Alexander Funk, head of business development at Funk Bowling, says: “Funk Nexus reimagines bowling for the social competitive era by layering dynamic digital experiences onto full-size and DuckPin lanes.

"It’s a single product which has a universe of possibilities. It’s easy to program, it delivers a unique brand of entertainment, and it elevates the player experience far beyond that of traditional bowling.”

Funk Nexus goes beyond traditional systems by utilising AI-driven lane reactions that instantly respond to every roll and pin hit. As players level up, unlock surprises, or complete challenges, animations cascade across the lane, transforming each moment into a spectacle.

The immersive experience is further improved by reactive lighting, which creates a vibrant atmosphere that responds to the action.

The system aims to improve operational efficiency through features such as self-service kiosks, smart queueing, centralised lane management, and integrated analytics. This infrastructure enables venue staff to focus on hospitality, as Nexus handles the flow, reducing labour requirements and boosting revenue.

All visual touchpoints- such as scoring kiosks, overhead displays, lane projections, and digital signage- update instantly when themes change, without any downtime or disruptions.

Operators can customise themes, lighting, and visuals to create unique experiences for a range of bookings, including birthday parties, corporate events, and bowling leagues.

Discover the latest in the out-of-home entertainment sector

Alexander Funk is eager to be part of what is regarded as the flagship show for the out-of-home entertainment sector:

“EAG London is the perfect stage to show how Nexus helps venues stand out, keep groups engaged and tap into new concepts without rebuilding the lane itself.

"We’re excited to meet partners who are ready to push the category forward. We are issuing an open invitation to operators and partners to experience Nexus live at EAG Expo and experience for themselves how we are taking bowling entertainment into an exciting and compelling new era.”

EAG organisers are focused on sustaining the upward trend enjoyed by the leading expo. The attendance at EAG has risen by 69 percent since 2022, with the 2025 edition welcoming 4,306 unique visitors—a 23 percent increase compared to the previous year.

In 2025, a total of 1,973 businesses were represented, with 14 percent of visitors travelling to the London shows from outside the UK.

The 2026 edition of EAG Expo, including co-located sister shows SIE Expo and the London Casino and Gaming Show, is set to be an international gathering. The most recent data, collected two months before the shows at ExCeL London (13–15 January), confirms registrations from 49 nations, including the UK.
