Morris Hargreaves McIntyre (MHM), an international strategy and insight consultancy, has announced the appointment Alexa Magladry as the new director of its fast-growing North America division. Founded in 1999, MHM works with forward-thinking arts and cultural organisations, helping them to clarify their purpose, vision and brand, to raise engagement levels with their programmes, exhibits, and digital content, and to expand their donor and membership bases.
With offices in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand and operations in 15 nations, MHM’s North America division has quickly expanded and now serves over 30 clients.
Meet Alexa Magladry
Magladry, who is originally from Arizona, received her master’s degree for her notable research on audience participation with travelling MoMA exhibitions. She then established a strong reputation while working in marketing positions of increasing responsibility for Australian art museums, and later rose to prominence as a consultant for MHM’s Australasia Division, where she worked with notable clients like the Sydney Opera House.
On returning to the US, Magladry then took on projects for SFMOMA, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and others, before moving into a client-side position with the American Museum of Natural History, where she helped the institution to boost its international reach.
She now rejoins MHM in this new role as director, as the firm continues its rapid growth. The New Museum, the New York Philharmonic, and President Lincoln’s Cottage are among the firm’s most recent clients, joining Smithsonian and MFA, Boston, who have been with them for a while. With a base in Brooklyn, New York, she will lead a growing group of consultants, researchers, and data analysts.
Magladry says: “I’m passionate about engaging much broader audiences, far more deeply, with our clients’ causes. I couldn’t be more excited to return to MHM in this new role with this growing team.”
MHM founder, Andrew McIntyre, adds: “Alexa is hugely impressive, a bright light in a new generation of young women arts leaders that are transforming our sector. Our clients will benefit from her strategic insight and unflinching commitment to inclusion and engagement.”
