Panasonic launches new 1-Chip DLP projectors for museum and exhibition spaces

Panasonic Business, a leading audiovisual technology provider, has launched a new range of 1-Chip laser projectors, ideal for museum and exhibition spaces.

Panasonic Business is pleased to announce the new PT-RZ990 Series, a range of 1-Chip DLP laser projectors that provide bold colour images while also being compact, flexible and maintenance-free. There are four different projectors in the series, which will be available in Europe from this August. The range goes up to 10,000lm (centre) and WUXGA resolution

A combination of the cutting-edge 1-Chip DLP imaging technology and Panasonic’s Quartet Colour Harmonizer means that producing immersive images in large, bright areas, such as museums and exhibition spaces becomes simple.

The PT-RZ990 Series

Panasonic’s Quartet Colour Harmonizer is a new colour-wheel technology. Its optimised optical design matches the light-source output according to colour requirements, resulting in realistic and immersive images. In addition to this, the company’s System Daylight View 3 technology automatically adjusts the output depending on the light levels, so the images are always seen at their best.

This new series allows for seamlessly blended, multi-screen projection, leading to truly immersive displays and exhibitions. Thanks to the Smart Projector Control, the equipment is also straightforward to install, adjust and monitor, all from a smartphone.

Creating bolder and brighter displays

To aid integration, the projectors support uncompressed 4K/60p signal input[2] via HDMI or DIGITAL LINK terminals. Separate LAN and HDBase-T DIGITAL LINK terminals also free the DIGITAL LINK pipeline for video-over-cable runs of up to 150m.

The PT-RZ990 series includes a range of 11 optional lenses, with wide-throw distances from 0.280:1 to 8.58:1. It is also compatible with the ET-DLE020 Ultra-Short-Throw Zoom lens. Furthermore, the projector series comes with inbuilt Geometric Adjustment with Free Grid Correction, meaning that operators can reshape or geometrically change the images. More geometric functionality is available by upgrading to Panasonic’s ET-UK20 and CUK10 kits.

Users can enjoy 20,000 hours of maintenance-free reliability, as the dust-resistant optical engine provides long-lasting brightness and colour uniformity. If a diode does fail, images are maintained due to a redundancy circuit, guarding against brightness and colour uniformity loss. Projectors can also be switched instantly to a back-up signal in case of disruption.

Earlier this year, Panasonic also announced that its flagship VF2 Series LCD video wall displays are now available in Europe.
