Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in Florida has soft opened its new family-friendly suspended coaster, Phoenix Rising.
Ahead of the public launch on 21 July, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay debuted its new ride to pass members on Wednesday (17 July).
“We are excited to unveil Phoenix Rising to our pass members and guests,” said Stewart Clark, park president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
“Our pass members are in for a special treat as they get to be among the first to ride this incredible coaster. With a height requirement of just 42 inches, it’s an adventure the whole family can enjoy together.”
Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), Phoenix Rising is the park’s 10th coaster, and its first to feature on-board audio and a unique soundtrack to enhance the ride experience.
Inspired by the mythical phoenix, the new coaster “is packed with surprises and speeds up to 44 miles per hour”, according to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
“There’s nothing more exhilarating than a ride on the wings of the phoenix,” the park says.
New rides at SeaWorld parks
“Experience a fiery blaze of immersive, family-friendly excitement as you soar above the Serengeti Plain and drop into fun-filled twists and turns on the new Phoenix Rising.”
Earlier this month, sister park SeaWorld Orlando opened the new Penguin Trek attraction – its first family launch coaster.
Also made by B&M, Penguin Trek is located in SeaWorld Orlando’s new Antarctica realm. It features an indoor and outdoor track, snowmobile-style ride cars, and speeds of up to 43 mph.
