Ferrari World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island has been voted the world’s best theme park in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
The Ferrari-themed park in Abu Dhabi has replaced last year’s winner, Disneyland Paris, in the top spot in the Travellers’ Choice awards category for best theme parks and water parks in the world.
The awards reveal the highest-rated attractions across the globe based on Tripadvisor reviews.
“With such a huge selection of travel activities and excursions available on the platform, Tripadvisor helps travelers find the experiences that turn a trip into a lifelong memory,” said Kristen Dalton, president of Tripadvisor.
Theme parks and water parks formerly had their own categories, but have now been merged.
Until this year, Siam Park had been voted the world’s best water park for eight consecutive years.
Now, the park has failed to make the top 25 in the Tripadvisor list, which includes just three water parks.
Waterbom Bali is in the top spot for water parks (and third in the overall list), followed by Beach Park in Brazil in sixth place, and then Adventure Cove Waterpark in Singapore in 12th place.
Returning to theme parks, in second place is Brazil’s Beto Carrero World, in fourth place is Heide Park in Germany, and in fifth is Puy du Fou in France.
