Lionsgate and Landing International have announced plans for Lionsgate’s first branded outdoor theme park, Lionsgate Movie World.
Lionsgate Movie World will span around 1.3 million square feet (approximately 122,000 square meters). It will be centred on blockbuster movies such as The Hunger Games, the Twilight saga and Now You See Me.
It will be Lionsgate’s first branded outdoor theme park and Korea’s first international theme park. In addition, Lionsgate Movie World will be the first outdoor theme park built specifically around globally-famous movies. It is the latest milestone in the ongoing global expansion of Lionsgate’s location-based entertainment business that incorporates branded theme parks, entertainment centres and other attractions in Europe, the U.S., the Middle East and Asia.
The park will have seven movie zones, each one themed around Lionsgate properties which have collectively grossed nearly $9 billion at the global box office. These include the eagerly-anticipated Robin Hood, set for release in March 2018.
Visitors will experience actual movie scenes via state-of-the-art rides, attractions and 4D IP reproduced streets and even towns. Each zone will feature its own themed restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and shows.

Construction at Lionsgate Movie World at Jeju Shinhwa World is expected to start in 2018. The park is scheduled to open in 2019.
Lionsgate Movie World will be the centrepiece of Jeju Shinhwa World, a dynamic integrated resort in Korea, spanning 2.5 million square meters (over 20 million square feet). It launched at the start of 2017 and is opening in phases. The project is set to include theme parks, an adventure water park, a destination spa, alongside Jeju’s first retail, food and beverage complex. The project will also incorporate a series of premium hotels.
