Holiday Park will add a water park, new themed areas and more attractions

European theme park company Plopsa has announced plans to invest €80 million in Germany’s Holiday Park.

Over the next few years, Holiday Park will introduce a new water park, new themed areas, and more attractions.

The water park will house themed pools, waterslides and play areas for children. Plopsa will spend around €40m on the new water park, so half of the planned €80m investment.

“We are investing in the future to create an even better guest experience. A lot can be achieved with €80 million,” says Carl Lenaerts, CEO of Plopsa.

The remaining €40m will be spent on new attractions in the theme park, as well as upgrades to the site’s infrastructure.

In spring 2025, Holiday Park will debut a new indoor attraction based on the Smurfs. Also coming this year is a new themed area, currently under construction.

Additionally, Holiday Park is planning a “spectacular major attraction” for the 2026 season in partnership with the Tomorrowland music festival, Plopsa said in a statement.

Belgium’s Plopsaland De Panne theme park is home to a Tomorrowland-themed coaster. Opened in 2021, The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland is the first extreme spinning coaster in Europe from Mack Rides, and the second in the world.

Plopsa said new experiences are to launch at Holiday Park this year, too. “These will open this summer,” said Bernd Beitz, Plopsa’s Germany director.

The new attractions for 2024 will be announced at the start of this season, which begins on 23 March.

Plopsa, the theme park division of Studio 100, currently operates eight theme parks across Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Poland.
