Ride and attraction safety book launched by Mobaro

The software provider Mobaro has joined forces with the Danish Association of Amusement Parks (FFD) to publish a book for those that operate rides – and attractions professionals can get one for free.

The publication has been launched to coincide with the revised EN13814 standard, and is intended to inspire theme/amusement parks to work with the standard. FFD and Mobaro have been collaborating since 2017 in an attempt to equip the industry for the revision of EN13814.

Aimed at ride engineers, operators, and technical managers as well as park general managers, the book contains:

  • A review of industry best practice and guidelines
  • What it takes to meet the new EN13814 standards
  • Guidance on guests with disabilities
  • Advice on lockouts
  • Tips for how to structure typical maintenance and safety checklists
  • Views from nine attractions industry professionals (including Mobaro’s director of parks and attractions, David Bromilow) on working with safety, maintenance and operations

“It was outstanding to be able to tap into David Bromilow’s expertise,” says FFD chairman Søren Kragelund, founder of former owner of Fårup Sommerland. “The outcome of our meetings forms the basis of this book.”

Insight and expertise are key when it comes to safety. In-depth knowledge supports the platform but also plays a vital role in structuring a relevant and effective setup. It is for this reason that Mobaro remains actively involved in the ride and attraction industry.

With its mobile app and digital checklists, Mobaro strives to keep ride operators ahead of industry needs, trends and standards when it comes to safety. In June, it was announced as preferred digitisation supplier of PortAventura World, the leading Spanish theme park resort

FFD and Mobaro are making the book, named Best Practice Guidelines for: Ride and Attraction Safety, available for free as a service to the industry. It is available as either a digital or printed publication. Get yours here.
