Universal Fan Fest Nights begins in April

Universal Studios Hollywood is expanding its programme of seasonal after-hours events with the new Universal Fan Fest Nights.

The separately-ticketed event is designed to immerse fans and guests in new “in-world experiences” unlike those already on offer during normal park hours.

The inaugural event begins on 25 April and runs on select nights through 18 May. It was created by the team behind Halloween Horror Nights and will offer the same level of intensity and detail as the iconic Halloween event.

Universal Fan Fest Nights will feature new experiences inspired by sci-fi, fantasy, gaming and anime brands like Star Trek, Back to the Future, Dungeons & Dragons, One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Here’s what visitors can expect:

Star Trek: Red Alert will take guests on an adventure aboard the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D). They are transported to the year 2403 as an otherworldly entity terrorises the ship.

This experience features Star Trek environments, special effects, audiovisual effects, multi-sensory elements and themed performers.

Back to the Future: Destination Hill Valley is a nostalgic experience based on the 1985 Back to the Future movie. It takes place at the original filming location for the movie, with guests feeling like they are going back in time as they enjoy familiar scenes and iconic props.

Dungeons & Dragons: Secrets of Waterdeep is described as an epic experience in which guests explore the fantastic world of D&D.

For this attraction, Universal Studios Hollywood collaborated with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, an innovator in puppetry, animatronics and digital animation.

One Piece: Grand Pirate Gathering is based on hit anime series One Piece, while Jujutsu Kaisen: Hunger of the Cursed is inspired by the Japanese manga and its anime adaptation.

Additionally, the park’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World will offer new experiences.

In the latter, guests can meet magical creatures like the niffler. At Super Nintendo World, guests will get to meet Yoshi and take part in a scavenger hunt to find colourful Yoshi eggs.

As with all Universal events, there will be themed F&B and new merchandise.
