Canadian waterparks expert, WhiteWater Attractions has created a new Super Flume ride for Korea’s largest theme park.
Thunder Falls at Everland Theme Park in Yongin not only enhances the park’s offering – it doubles the capacity of the ride it has replaced.
Everland opened in 1976 and attracts 7 million guests a year, making it the sixteenth most visited park in the world.
WhiteWater claims that the efficient design of the 485 metre ride coupled with the eight-person boats will increase average throughput to around 1400 per hour.
The 180 degree turn tables and backwards drops not only ramp up the thrill factor but take up less space. The inclusion of stacked turntables removes the need for an extra flume to turn the boat around and send it down the big drop.
Mark Miller, Flume Ride Specialist, WhiteWater Attractions, said, “We’ve packed a huge number of fun features into the 485 meter long ride. The full one-eighty direction changes combined with varying degrees of drops, from 5 meters up to a whopping 20 meters, creates an experience that is full of surprises.”
WhiteWater Attractions, founded in 1980, has completed 5000 projects worldwide and operates 21 offices round the globe. The number of unique features included in the new Thunder Falls attraction makes it the company’s largest ride to date.
“This Super Flume will have guests lining up again and again, ” says Miller.
