The Wave in Coventry has announced the opening date for its second phase. After opening the first phase of fitness and spa suites in July, the attraction will open its water park and slides on October 21.
The water park features six high-octane slides, including The Cascade, The Crestar, The Rapids, The Riptide, The Torrent, and The Cyclone.
The attraction also includes the UK’s biggest wave pool, which churns 20 million litres of water daily, as well as a lazy river, and a beach cafĆ©.
Cllr Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, said (via Coventry Live): “Iām delighted that we have an opening date for the Waterpark at The Wave.”

Describing the facilities as “incredible” and the building as “fantastic”, Caan added: “Between the six thrilling slides, the lower bowl with its splash pads and toddler friendly slides, wave pool and the lazy river, there is something for all the family.
āNo other city has this kind of facility in the heart of the city centre and itās the perfect legacy to our year as the European City of Sport. Keeping active is a great way of keeping fit in mind and body.
“More importantly, thanks to the design and the input of local school children waterpark is accessible for everyone.”
The Wave had an investment of £36.7 million. In the areas surrounding the water park, work is starting on a new play area for children, a new water feature, and a green space.
