wiegand.waterrides GmbH, a leading water ride and attraction provider, is celebrating the opening of a SlideWheel at Aquapark Reda in Poland.
wiegand.waterrides is pleased to announce that the first SlideWheel in Europe is now open at Aquapark Reda in Poland, a popular water park. The new ride, named #Aquaspinner by the park, opened to the public on 10 January 2020.
The award-winning SlideWheel is an innovative product developed by wiegand.waterrrides. It combines the fun of a Ferris wheel with the thrill of a waterslide in order to create a unique new experience. Riders can enjoy sudden G-forces, backwards movements, pendulum action and moments of weightlessness, all while enjoying top views.
The highest SlideWheel yet
Construction of the new slide began in April 2019. The installation at Aquapark Reda is the highest SlideWheel to date, rising to a height of 27.7 metres. It has a capacity of 470 riders per hour, with four-person rafts racing through a tube that measures 2.7 metres in diameter and 130 metres in length. The 160-ton ride spins on its own axis at almost two revolutions per minute.
The first SlideWheel in the world can be found at Chimelong Water Park in Guangzhou, China, the most-visited water park in the world, where it has been delighting guests since its installation in 2018. In fact, over 1 million riders have now experienced the attraction since it opened.
wiegand.waterrides provides water slides in both stainless steel and fibreglass, as well as a combination of the two. The company has a large portfolio, featuring wave slides, trough slides, tube slides, pendulum slides, play towers and various attractions for children’s areas. It is also the creator of the world’s only VR water slide.
In 2019, wiegand.waterrides won a Brass Ring Award at IAAPA Expo in Orlando, Florida. Its new product, SlideCoaster, picked up the award for the most innovative product concept.
