Four magical “houses” prominently feature throughout interactive experience

Imagine Exhibitions, a leader in worldwide travelling exhibitions and entertainment, has provided a preview into the most comprehensive touring exhibition to date for the expanded Wizarding World franchise, being first displayed at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, US.

The exhibition was developed and created by Imagine Exhibitions in partnership with Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment, and EMC Presents.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition is an all-new experience that celebrates the iconic moments and characters of The Wizarding World settings using “best-in-class” immersive design and technologies.

The Wizarding World comprises series and productions inspired by J.K Rowling‘s Harry Potter stories, including its films, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play and the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Movie highlights

Covering twenty thousand square feet, the exhibition will feature authentic props and original costumes, engaging guests with innovative, magical environments in forms never experienced before in a touring exhibition format.

The exhibition features twenty-one distinct areas, inspired by memorable locations including The Great Hall and The Forbidden Forest. A grand Hogwarts Houses gallery will prominently display the four unique crests of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin houses. An image of the Hogwarts Houses gallery has been shared prior to opening (above), comprising a newly designed Ravenclaw crest.

Whilst visitors may have a preference for one house over others, this gallery showcases all of the Hogwarts houses in a celebratory area featuring the famous sorting hat which acts as a photo experience.

Personalised magic

This particular gallery will set the foundation for the rest of the exhibition experience, creating personalised moments for guests aligning with their choice of house during preregistration.

This nearly 2,000-square-foot gallery, will also feature interactive portraits and activated prop displays with further personalised digital activation experiences throughout the exhibition space.

Imagine Exhibitions president & CEO Tom Zaller says: “The journey through Hogwarts Houses will be one of the most anticipated of the entire exhibition, and we are very excited to share an early look at this treasured gallery.”

President & CEO of The Franklin Institute, Larry Dubinski, has high expectations for the installation, adding;

“All indications show that Harry Potter: The Exhibition will be one of, if not the most successful exhibition of all time at The Franklin Institute.”

Harry Potter: The Exhibition opens at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia on 18 February 2022. The exhibition will then embark on a global tour, with further details to be announced.
