CONDUCTR, the UK-based innovation studio, has been a key partner with Norwegian Cruise Line in developing Ocean Heights, a new three-deck outdoor entertainment area on the operator's recently announced Norwegian Aura.
Ocean Heights combines large-scale attractions, immersive media, and technology-driven experiences within a versatile, open-air setting.
Intended as a connected onboard destination rather than an isolated attraction, this three-deck area features adventure activities like the 82-foot Aura Ropes Course, a 25-foot climbing wall, an outdoor midway-style gaming zone, and the most extensive waterslide selection of any Norwegian Cruise Line ship.
All components are designed to function as a unified destination that transitions from an active daytime environment to an energetic, vibrant nighttime vibe.
A unified onboard destination
In close collaboration with Norwegian Cruise Line’s Innovation Team, CONDUCTR helped shape the creative vision and masterplan for the three-deck destination onboard Norwegian Aura.
The teams jointly determined the guest experience, attraction selection, and spatial layout, ensuring the environment offers a strong multi-generational appeal while functioning cohesively as a unified onboard destination.

“Ocean Heights marks a shift in how outdoor cruise environments can be designed and experienced,” says Ben Dowson, creative director at CONDUCTR.
"Instead of standalone attractions, we’ve worked with NCL to create a connected destination that adapts and evolves throughout the day, delivering layered experiences that feel intentional, flexible and built around the guest.”
Alex Tavernini, senior director of guest experience and innovation at Norwegian Cruise Line, adds: “Ocean Heights signals where cruise innovation needs to go next.
“In collaboration with CONDUCTR, we’ve redefined the outdoor deck as a fully integrated environment that blends adventure, media and technology into one cohesive experience. It reflects our commitment to pushing boundaries and shaping what the next generation of cruise ships will look and feel like.”
CONDUCTR also recently delivered a new digital activation, The Art Experience, on Oceania Cruises’ new ship, Oceania Allura. Extending across two decks and featuring over 25 curated artworks, it was envisioned, produced, and constructed by CONDUCTR, showcasing the studio’s end-to-end approach to immersive design, technology, and culture.
