Disney, Mattel veteran named Paramount's president of global products and experiences

Paramount has named Marvel, Disney and Mattel veteran Josh Silverman as its president of global products and experiences.

In his new role, effective 6 October, Silverman will drive growth across Paramount's portfolio of consumer products, live experiences, partnerships, publishing, and e-commerce for physical products.


Reporting to Paramount's president Jeff Shell, Silverman will bring to Paramount his expertise in global franchise strategy and brand management. He will partner with leaders at Paramount’s iconic brands, including Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon.

“Josh brings a combination of strategic vision, deep industry experience, and a proven track record of driving global growth across beloved brands and franchises," said Shell.

"We are excited to see him harness Paramount’s world-class library and creative engines to reach our audiences in new and exciting ways and fuel the expansion of our consumer products and experiences businesses.”

Silverman previously served as executive vice president and chief franchise officer at Mattel, where he significantly expanded its global consumer products business and entertainment experiences, which include the upcoming Mattel Adventure Parks.

Silverman to drive LBE growth at Paramount

Before joining Mattel, Silverman held senior leadership roles at Marvel and Disney, where he drove growth of the consumer products business from $37.5 billion to $54bn in retail sales over a decade.

Paramount is growing its location-based entertainment (LBE) offering across the world. The most recent development is an expansion of its partnership with leisure park operator Parques Reunidos.

Through the agreement, Parques Reunidos' parks will add thrilling rides and interactive experiences based on Paramount IP.
