The new PokéPark Kanto theme park in Tokyo, Japan has unveiled some of its attractions, merchandise and F&B experiences ahead of opening next month.

Combining nature and interactivity, the 26,000-square-metre Pokémon park will be the world's first permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction.

It opens on 5 February in a corner of Yomiuriland, an amusement park nestled in Tokyo’s Tama Hills.

PokéPark Kanto has shared first-look images of its two attractions; a Pikachu-themed aerial carousel-style ride called Pika Pika Paradise and a merry-go-round named Vee Vee Voyage featuring Eevee and friends.

As for merchandise, PokéPark Kanto will sell plush toys inspired by characters like Pikachu and Eevee, a popcorn bucket featuring Snorlax, and themed stationery and homeware.

F&B on offer will include drinks inspired by Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, and a Pikachu onigiri tray.

As well as the new images, Pokémon GO has announced that the augmented reality (AR) game will be available at PokéPark Kanto with exclusive content.

PokéPark Kanto will be home to more than 600 Pokémon for guests to discover across two immersive zones.

One is called Pokémon Forest, a 500-metre walking trail with tunnels, stairs, and meadows utilising the site’s natural terrain.

The other zone is known as Sedge Town and houses the two attractions and the Pokémon Trainers’ Market for shopping, as well as the Pokémon Center, Poké Mart, Sedge Gym, and a Pokémon parade.

In more news for Pokémon fans, Universal Studios Japan is expanding its Pokémon experiences, which will then be introduced to Universal's parks across the world.
