News

Una de Boer, chief marketing officer at WhiteWater and Rachel Read, co-founder and director of blooloop, will be talking about effective, good, green marketing at greenloop 2025.

greenloop find out more

In this session, we will be looking at examples of effective marketing of climate action by visitor attractions.

Spoiler alert! Why are there so few of them? What is stopping people from taking action? How can we talk about sustainability work effectively without greenwashing?

This session is live, so please come along with your own examples and questions.

A dark art?

Una says, “Marketing is not a dark art, we don’t lie – that destroys the brands we are here to build. Authenticity creates trust, and trust drives preference. So why do we see EXAGGERATION about companies’ sustainability? It happens so often that we even have a term for it, ‘greenwashing’.

whitewater unveils new logo

“WhiteWater has been a greenloop sponsor since the start because we put our money where our mouth is, sustainability matters to us. We are on our own sustainability journey, achieving ISO14001 certification last year, and want to share our learnings within our Attractions community (if you have questions, please DM me).

“My conscience is clear, we don’t greenwash, but the prevalence of it means consumers are now sceptical about ‘green’ claims and that’s something marketers must change.”

Rachel says, “I’m so looking forward to talking to Una about a subject that frankly baffles me. Why aren’t more companies taking action? Why aren’t we talking more about climate change? And what are those of us who are talking about it getting wrong? Una and WhiteWater have been trailblazers in their environmental work. So please do come along to this session with your own examples of good green marketing and of course lots of questions. Join the debate!”
