M-Vision 27000 WU 1-chip DLP laser projector provided vibrant visuals for the team’s first EuroLeague game

Digital Projection, a specialist in laser projectors, has revealed that Paris Basketball has used its M-Vision 27000 WU projector for the team’s opening match in the elite international EuroLeague championship.

The acclaimed M-Vision 27000 WU is the brightest 1-chip DLP laser projector in the world and illuminated the 8,000-capacity Adidas Arena in Paris for the match against Serbia’s Crvena Zvezda. It was also used for the team’s first full season in its new home arena, which opened in February 2024.

Celebratory event

Four M-Vision 27000 WU projectors were used by Paris-based video mapping expert Doxa Vision in collaboration with Digital Projection’s distribution partner, ETHA International, to light up the interior of the Adidas Arena. The projectors’ 27,000-lumen output provided vivid, vibrant visuals for the sold-out event, including projected on-court banners honouring Paris Basketball’s first EuroCup victory.

A further two 20,000 projectors were positioned outside, bringing the frontage of the new arena to life and enhancing the celebratory mood for Paris Basketball supporters as they entered the home arena of the EuroCup champions.

Bruno Michon and Martin Cail of Doxa Vision were in charge of all aspects of the project, from technical design to on-site management. ETHA was responsible for supplying the projectors, and the Digital Projection team, under the direction of Stephane Bourdon, national sales manager for France, provided on-site support.

The four M-Vision 27,000 WU projectors were placed 20 metres above the Adidas Arena court, and positioned to provide flawless graphics across the surface. Mikimo Studio developed the content, which was then managed using Doxa Vision’s bespoke video mapping software with signal transmission via fibre-optic HDMI cables from a central Mac Studio system.

The event opened with a 3D animation of Paris Basketball lifting a championship banner to mark the previous season’s EuroCup win. A pre-match sequence showcased the team’s new identity, with animations of the Paris Basketball logo transitioning over LED panels, the central video cube, and the court itself.

The sequence also included footage of famous Paris locations and highlights from the team’s 2023-24 season. The evening ended with a 20-minute concert, with projection mapping that transformed the court into a stage.

Technical power & colour accuracy

Digital Projection’s M-Vision 27,000 WU projectors were selected for their exceptional brightness, colour reproduction and reliability.

Michon, co-founder of Doxa Vision, says: “The Digital Projection’s models stood out not only for their technical power but also for their remarkable colour accuracy. This saved us significant time and ensured a flawless result.”

Notwithstanding Crvena Zvezda’s victory, the event was a huge success, receiving positive fan feedback and extensive media coverage, including in Eurosport and L’Équipe.

“The audience was thrilled by the immersive visuals,” Michon adds. “Paris Basketball supporters were particularly vocal in their praise, calling for even more events like this one.”

Paris Basketball is currently ranked third in the 2024/25 EuroLeague, which ends in April 2025.

Earlier this month, Digital Projection shared its plans to present its innovative new 1-chip projectors at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2025, which is taking place in Barcelona from 4 to 7 February.
