Mad Systems Inc., the award-winning audiovisual and interactive system designer and integrator, has launched Alice™, a patent-pending AI technology that is designed to transform immersive experiences.
The team has built upon its successful AV++ solutions to create Alice, a solution that utilises artificial intelligence (AI) to create personalised, diverse and varied content for exhibitions, shows, presentations and everyday life.
Fully personalised experience
During registration, visitors simply select their interests and preferences and then use certain identification options such as QR codes, RFID, barcodes, NFC or Mad Systems’ facial recognition software. Alice then generates a personalised experience using pre-trained knowledge that is generated from a known body of knowledge. This ensures that the information presented is curated and accurate.
Alice shapes the visitor’s experience based on their knowledge level, language and interests. If you tell Alice that you are a student, then you will receive more information than someone who indicates that they will only read the headlines. And repeat visitors are unlikely to be presented with the same knowledge each visit, despite picking the same interests and preferences.
The system is able to generate more than just text. It can control lighting and special effects and play videos or images. It can even generate tours led by synthesised avatars, from a generic scientist to Julius Caesar. It is also designed to accommodate all visitors, including those with vision or hearing issues.

Mad Systems says: “We invite you to step into this new world where AI doesn’t just provide information – it creates personalized experiences. With Alice, every visit is a new discovery, every experience is captivating, and everything is catered to you.”
Alice can be used in museums, theatres or even in daily life. For example, it can detect someone’s purchases whilst food shopping using data from a POS system. Alice can then learn about their favourite foods and suggest new recipes or twists on their favourite meal.
This new technology is fully integrated into Mad Systems’ existing AV++ ecosystem, providing a coherent and updated story for attendees each time they visit. Alice can also be grafted into other systems that have the correct requirements.
Mad Systems is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and the team will be attending the AAM Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo from 19 – 22 May 2023. Stop by booth #931 to talk to them about Alice.
