Theme park and ski resort operator Compagnie des Alpes (CDA) has acquired Belantis, one of the largest amusement parks in eastern Germany.
Compagnie des Alpes has purchased the entire capital of Event Park GmbH, which owns and operates Belantis, from Parques Reunidos.
The acquisition is based on an enterprise value of €22 million.

Belantis features 27 attractions across nine themed zones. It also contains three shops and six dining outlets.
Opened in 2003, it has welcomed around 300,000 guests in recent years, and generated a turnover of approximately €11 million for the 2024 fiscal year.
Compagnie des Alpes said the theme park has the potential to welcome almost 900,000 visitors each year.
It also said the park is “predominantly family oriented” and has “relatively little local competition”.

The site has several advantages, including its location in a growing region with motorway access from Leipzig and close proximity to Dresden and Berlin, Compagnie des Alpes said.
Additionally, it has a total land area of more than 80 hectares, with another 41 hectares available for future development.
Dominique Thillaud, CEO of Compagnie des Alpes, said: “The acquisition of Belantis is a great opportunity for Compagnie des Alpes.
“This site has real assets, which, combined with the group’s expertise in terms of operational excellence, marketing and customer satisfaction, give us great confidence in the park’s future potential for development and performance.”

With the acquisition of Belantis, Compagnie des Alpes has 14 leisure parks across Europe. These include major destinations such as Parc Astérix, Futuroscope and several Walibi sites.
François Fassier, director of leisure parks at Compagnie des Alpes, said: “We are delighted that Belantis is now joining our division.
“We look forward to working with their teams on the ground to build, together, a new page in the history of this site.”
