Walt Disney World has completed its multi-year transformation of Epcot with the launch of the CommuniCore Hall events space and CommuniCore Plaza.
The first show on the CommuniCore Plaza stage debuted on 10 June. It is inspired by Encanto and titled ‘Celebración Encanto’.
Inside CommuniCore Hall, guests will find a new location for character interactions with Mickey and friends.
Also new in Epcot’s World Celebration neighbourhood is an F&B location called ‘Festival Favorites’, which is serving dishes from the four seasonal Epcot festivals. This summer, Festival Favorites will be selling Encanto-themed treats.

The historic transformation of Epcot has included new attractions such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Journey of Water.
Cosmic Rewind is Epcot’s first-ever coaster, and the longest fully enclosed roller coaster in a Disney theme park, while Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a motion-based trackless 3D dark ride. Journey of Water is the first Disney parks attraction inspired by the Moana.
Earlier this year, Disney confirmed that Epcot’s popular Test Track attraction will close this month for a reimagining.
Disney World investments
In more news, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District has unanimously approved a $17 billion development deal with Disney that would allow the company to spend the money on its Disney World parks over the next 10 to 20 years.
It will also permit Disney World to build a fifth major theme park and two minor theme parks, expand hotel room capacity, and increase retail and restaurant space.
Disney plans to spend $60bn on its parks, experiences and cruises over the next 10 years. This includes the $1.9bn DisneylandForward development, and a major Magic Kingdom expansion.
