Theme park, animation and IP company, Fantawild Animation Inc., has announced a host of new Boonie Bears releases and a new Tiger Team series at the company’s 2018 Expo.
The 3-day event was held at the Fantawild Resort in Zhengzhou, China. Around 500 professionals attended, representing major brands, film companies, publishing, attractions, animation studios and the media. Attendees had the chance to attend three forums featuring over 10 special guests, who shared insights on the animation industry around story creation, globalisation and IPs.
Fantawild announced four all-new series based on the blockbuster IP, Boonie Bears. Since launching four years ago, Boonie Bears: The Adventurers has stayed at the top of the ratings lists on major Chinese children’s TV channels and attracted close to 10 billion views on internet platforms.
Boonie Cubs 3 aimed at younger viewers launches 2019
Set to launch in 2019, Boonie Cub Tune Club and Boonie Cubs 3 are specifically aimed at younger viewers, while Boonie Bears: The Adventurers 2, launching later this year, targets older children. A new film, Boonie Bears: Blast into the Past, is scheduled to be screened in local cinemas during the 2019 Chinese New Year holiday.
Fantawild also unveiled plans for a brand new animation series based on the bestselling Tiger Team children’s books by Austrian author, Thomas Brezina. The books centre on three young teenagers who embark on adventures and solve mysteries. Introduced to China in 2001, the Tiger Team books have proved a major hit globally, selling over 40 million copies. They have topped the bestseller list of children’s books in China 23 times.
Also in the pipeline is a film about China’s world-famous terracotta warriors: Realm of Terracotta.
