Kentucky Kingdom is investing $25m over the next two seasons

Kentucky Kingdom has announced a new family-friendly land for this year. Opening in May 2025, the $11 million land will include new rides, attractions and dining options.

Per a press release, the land is inspired by the beauty and spirit of the Bluegrass with a Kentucky twist. It is the first part of Kentucky Kingdom’s $25m investment over the next two seasons.

The upcoming zone will boast three new family-friendly rides, 10 re-themed rides (also with a Kentucky twist), a new 4,800-square-foot playground, and two reimagined dining locations.

“As a family-centered park, we’re dedicated to creating spaces that bring loved ones together, and this new land is our way of celebrating our Kentucky roots while offering exciting new experiences for our guests,” said Sarah Worrell, Kentucky Kingdom’s general manager.

“Our hosts are so excited to share what we have in store for next season, but we also want everyone to know that there is even more on the way for Kentucky Kingdom soon.”

Located in Louisville and spanning 67 acres, Kentucky Kingdom is the largest amusement and water park in Kentucky.

It already offers more than 70 rides and attractions, including one of the region’s largest selections of children’s rides, five world-class coasters, and two giant wave pools.

Kentucky Kingdom is part of Herschend’s collection of family parks and attractions in North America. These include Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, and the Vancouver Aquarium.

Silver Dollar City in the Ozarks is constructing a new hotel as part of a $500m investment plan over the next 10 years.
