Legoland New York reopens on April 8 for the 2022 season with a new water playground, while the state’s largest water park, Splish Splash, is looking to recruit 800 employees.

The water playground in Lego City includes a Lego boat building and racing experience, as well as a waterslide and giant water bucket. New shows, called ‘Academy of Arrrrr’, ‘Detective Trace’, and ‘Earth Beat’, will be performed at two new venues within Lego City and Lego Pirates.

Legoland New York’s signature Halloween event, Brick-or-Treat, is returning this year with a new 4D movie, and for the first time ever, the park will be open through December 2022 for the Christmas Bricktacular.

Additionally, Legoland New York’s first Fourth of July celebration, ‘Red, White and Boom!’ is taking place on July 4. The event includes the first-ever fireworks at the resort.

“We’re always looking to add something new to the Legoland New York experience,” said Stephanie Johnson, the park’s divisional director. “For our first full operating season, our team has been hard at work on new shows, new attractions, and new offerings for our biggest fans.”

“Everything we do is for the love of fun and we aim to build unforgettable memories that will keep families coming back to our resort again and again,” Johnson added.

New York‘s largest water park, Splish Splash, has also launched a hiring push in a bid to recruit 800 employees for the 2022 season. The attraction is accepting applications for positions including lifeguards, food service, retail and park services.

“So many people, myself included, started out in an entry-level seasonal role and advanced into a rewarding career,” said general manager Mike Bengtson.

“Whether you stay with us one season or seven, Splish Splash offers fun, one-of-a-kind work experiences that you never forget. We can’t wait to welcome more people to our team!”
