Six Flags Magic Mountain has announced another record-breaking roller coaster, Wonder Woman Flight of Courage, which is the park’s 20th roller coaster.
Wonder Woman Flight of Courage will be the 20th coaster at Magic Mountain, which will offer more coasters than any other theme park in the world when the attraction launches in summer 2022.
The DC-themed addition will be the tallest and longest single-rail coaster in the world. It is the result of a partnership between Six Flags, DC and Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment.
Riders will enjoy 3,300 feet of track, 13 storeys and speeds of up to 58 mph. The coaster will be located in the six-acre DC Universe area of the park.
Record-breaking DC coaster
This will be expanded and remodelled to include a new, innovative restaurant and bar experience, as well as retail venues selling exclusive DC-branded merchandise.
“This is an historic milestone for our park as we introduce the latest addition to our unrivalled coaster dynasty, Wonder Woman Flight of Courage,” said Don McCoy, park president.
“Not only is this a record-breaking single-rail coaster, it brings Six Flags Magic Mountain’s coaster count to an unprecedented twenty, the most in the world.”
“Our partnership with Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment makes this accomplishment even more exciting, as we integrate the legacy of an iconic DC superhero into the theming of the ride,” McCoy added.
“Additionally, we are creating a more innovative guest experience by redesigning one of our most popular areas, DC Universe, which will become the home of Wonder Woman Flight of Courage.”
As visitors enter the ride queue, they will be immersed in Wonder Woman’s story, before joining forces with her on a thrilling journey through dives, banks, rolls and turns.
Wonder Woman Flight of Courage includes:
- Themed entrance portal and queue inspired by the hidden island of Themyscira
- Four trains of 12 passengers along a monorail track
- 3,300 feet of single-rail, I-beam track
- Ascent up to a 131-foot lift hill and speeds of up to 58 mph
- 87-degree first drop and overbanked cutback
- Three dramatic inversions including a 180-degree stall, raven dive and zero-gravity roll
