Florida’s Adventure Island water park is opening a new interactive splash and play zone called ‘Shaka-Laka Shores’ in late March.
Shaka-Laka Shores features 25 play elements, and a central play structure for children. In addition, it includes interactive aquatic attractions within a zero-depth area.
“Shaka-Laka Shores’ vibrant and interactive elements are bound to provide our youngest guests with a playful space to splash and explore,” said Neal Thurman, park president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island.

“Shaka-Laka Shores will bundle the elements of excitement and interactivity to serve as another great option for families experiencing Adventure Island.”
Adventure Island is owned and operated by SeaWorld. Located across the street from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the water park covers 30 acres.
Also on offer are the Rapids Racer, the world’s first duelling saucer waterslide, and Wahoo Remix, the park’s first slide to offer synchronised light and sound elements.
Additional waterslides at Adventure Island are Solar Vortex, Colossal Curl, Riptide, Caribbean Corkscrew and Water Moccasin.
New aquatic attractions for kids
The park also boasts a 17,000-square-foot wave pool, a children’s water playground, the Rambling Bayou lazy river, and a 70-foot drop slide.
Last week, Miral announced the opening of Abu Dhabi’s Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue, the MENA region’s first dedicated marine research and rescue centre.
SeaWorld’s first centre outside of the US will be joined later this year by SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, a new marine life park.
Scott Ross, chairman of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, said the group has “maintained its unwavering mission and steadfast commitment to protecting marine animals” for nearly 60 years.
