ProSlide Technology Inc., an industry leader in water ride manufacturing and design, has celebrated a string of milestones at IAAPA Expo Europe 2025, which took place in Barcelona last week.

As part of Water Park Day, ProSlide took part in a panel discussion about the unrealised potential of the family demographic in water parks.

Delegates could also ride the first Double TornadoWAVE 60 in Europe, Tornado King, which went on to win the Water World Best New Water Attraction category at the European Star Awards.

Rulantica and Siam Park, longtime ProSlide partners, were also named Europe’s Best Water Parks.

IAAPA Expo Europe opened with a photo of Tornado King on display at the entrance, setting the scene for a successful show. ProSlide’s exhibit was well attended, and welcomed visitors from the IAAPA Board of Directors, industry partners, and students on guided tours.

Furthermore, the booth was honoured with the IAAPA Image Award, the Association’s highest accolade for exhibit design. This acknowledged the team’s creative vision and strategic approach.

The company highlighted a number of significant projects, including OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark, a high-tech resort experience that combines contemporary design and cultural heritage, and Chimelong Water Park’s record-breaking expansion in China, featuring several world-firsts such as the Launched HydroMAGNETIC LIM MAMMOTH Water Coaster and HIVE 35.

At Zoombezi Bay at the Columbus Zoo, the first HIVE 20 in North America has opened, and at Sun World Ha Nam in Vietnam, the culture-meets-adventure park features more than 10 ProSlide ride complexes.

Showcasing HIVE

HIVE, ProSlide’s most recent ride innovation, was a key focus. Its compact, efficient, and visually appealing design combines flow, action, and capacity to provide high-impact thrills in a limited space. It was also the subject of a live podcast with Skip the Queue, in which Aaron Wilson, ProSlide’s vice president of business development, discussed the success of HIVE and the company’s future ambitions.

ProSlide Water World Park World Excellence Awards

ProSlide’s momentum continued at the Park World Excellence Awards, where the company was recognised as Best Supplier for its leadership in design and innovation, and Tornado King was awarded Best Water Park Experience.

Ray Smegal, chief commercial officer, ProSlide, says: “IAAPA Expo Europe was a huge success for the European water park community. The ProSlide team shared the best of Europe, and the world with water park developers, operators and partners.

“The energy and recognition from this year’s event, combined with the success of our new projects and the impact of HIVE, signal exciting opportunities for the industry and for ProSlide in the year ahead.”

ProSlide recently shared details of its HIVE 20 water ride at Zoombezi Bay, which serves as the anchor for the park’s new Conservation Tower expansion. Conservation Tower has been created through a 17-year partnership between the two organisations. It includes three immersive attractions powered by ProSlide, all inspired by conservation and environmental impact themes.
