WhiteWater celebrates successful year at IAAPA Expo

News
WhiteWater Press Conference IAAPA Expo 2022

The company has experienced a series of major successes with product development and installations

WhiteWater, a leading waterpark manufacturer, has introduced six new products, showcased iconic projects and discussed the ‘Joy Economy’ concept at IAAPA Expo this week.

WhiteWater has revealed it has produced more new products this year than in the previous ten years. “Rethinking how to fuse beloved experiences, as well as material and technological advancements, these products deliver huge value on many levels,” says the firm. “Designed with environmental sustainability and the operator’s bottom line in mind, these new attractions use less water, less energy, and are built to last.”

Six leading products

Blasterango Battle is a two-lane journey with Master Blaster drops and climbs in a conjoined flume, then through separated dark portions with colourful AquaLucent effects, and culminating with side-by-side Boomerango walls for zero-G experiences. This water slide’s action-packed racing experience, along with unique theming choices on the two walls, has already made it indisputably iconic.

With the tapering flume profile of Boomerango Squeeze, the popular Boomerango wall may now be placed mid-ride rather than at the attraction’s conclusion. This advancement not only provides a more varied ride experience but also allows the slide to be erected on a steep or uneven surface.

Walhalla is a high-energy slide which delivers high climbs, speeds, and thrills while keeping operating costs low. It is a fusion of the weightless sensations of Boomerango and the yo-yo-like oscillations of Manta.

AquaFortress offers a view to the future of multi-level play structures, completely adaptable and customizable to a park’s layout, thrill level, and capacity requirements. Polycarbonate guardrails and a Life Floor are included as standard features for safer play and longer equipment life.

FlowSurf is a revolutionary deep-wave system that responds to demand and is inspired by nature. Riders surf with genuine surfboards. It is an excellent anchor attraction for place-based entertainment.

Clarus is the breakthrough manufacturing technique and material technology from WhiteWater that produces see-through water slide flume sections. Clarus, which will be unveiled at IAAPA Expo 2022, will not only change a park’s ability to entertain customers, but it will also increase safety by maintaining line of sight on children’s slides.

Vantage

Vantage, WhiteWater’s software business unit, delved into the Joy Economy at IAAPA, a concept that serves as a driving force in the attractions industry, and how a personalised, seamless guest experience through digitization is the key to powering a cycle in which consumers enjoy, smile, spend, share, and repeat. CIOReview magazine just named Vantage one of the 10 Most Promising Digital Experience Solution Providers of 2022.

Vantage’s innovative Virtual Pass Processing is one of the components of digitisation. The heavy, manual steps associated with processing a season pass at the ticket office are reduced to a few simple taps, keystrokes, and a selfie on a guest’s phone in the comfort of wherever they may be. This technology received an IAAPA Brass Ring Award for Product or Service Used by Consumers for saving time, staff, and money.

Iconic installations

In keeping with WhiteWater’s current campaign, “Where Icons Are Made,” the firm celebrates its most recent projects that have been recognised in the industry.

Water World Ocean Park in Hong Kong and Wild Rivers in Irvine, California were both built on the grounds of the original water parks that people remembered fondly. These two parks opened to tremendous fanfare and, with their excellent ride lineups, were both recognised by the World Waterpark Association (WWA) with the 2022 Leading Edge Awards.

“Medusa’s Slidewheel,” the first SlideWheel in the Western Hemisphere, at Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park in Wisconsin, and “The Edge” Blasterango Battle at Soaky Mountain Waterpark in Tennessee, have garnered the most social attention this year. These two massive water slides are not only thrilling and eye-catching, but they have also become bucket list events for TikTok and Instagram users.

“The variety of experiences these projects bring demonstrates how a day at a water park can become a joyful, unique memory for guests,” says Paul Chutter, WhiteWater president. “These examples also show that the value of an iconic ride to drive great guest reviews cannot be underestimated.”

Coming Soon

As Macau’s economy shifts from casino-based to family-oriented, Studio City will take the lead by establishing the city’s first full-fledged outdoor water park in 2021. The outdoor segment has already won a WWA Leading Edge Award, and the inside portion, which WhiteWater will contribute to, promises to be just as outstanding.

Bugs Burrow, the new kids’ area at Kalahari Resort Round Rock’s water park, will have distinctly cute natural theming that will make an adorable backdrop for photos of youngsters at play.

With the groundbreaking of Europe’s first Endless Surf pool at SURFTOWN MUC in Munich, Germany this summer, there will be waves and surf next year as the equipment is rigorously tested for performance and safety before opening to the public.

WhiteWater’s Water Rides branch has received some fantastic news: One of Asia’s largest theme parks will introduce two of its must-see attractions for thrill seekers: the Super Flume and the River Raft Ride.

CEO Geoff Chutter says: “We are proud to be part of a resurgence of the industry with these notable new projects, together with great partners and clients. As demand increases around the world, we are forging ahead with our local for local approach and innovative new products that will help parks differentiate and succeed in their different markets.”
