CONDUCTR, the UK-based innovation studio, introduces its new attraction, Monster Motel: Challenge Rooms, offering a quick-paced, high-volume experience that reimagines the classic escape room format.

Developed end-to-end by CONDUCTR, Monster Motel offers a scalable, software-driven format that integrates immersive set design, physical gameplay, and digital logic.

It provides a repeatable, high-capacity experience that can entertain up to 120 guests per hour. This is more than ten times the throughput of a standard escape room.

The attraction consists of ten themed rooms linked by a flexible routing system, offering 27 unique paths for visitors. Each room features a timed challenge that requires group participation, ranging from problem-solving activities to energetic physical tasks.

The experience concludes with a dramatic “boss room” finale.

Smarter, faster, and built for scale

Peter Cliff, co-founder and CEO of CONDUCTR, says: “Escape rooms are a thing of the past.

"We’ve taken the teamwork, tension, and immersion people loved, and evolved it into something faster, smarter, and built for scale. It’s immersive, but it’s also efficient - designed for operators who want the creative value of an attraction with the commercial return of a high-capacity product.”

The attraction’s modular and durable design allows for easy retheming or reskinning, offering operators the flexibility to adapt to various markets or audiences. Monster Motel can also be scaled for use in family entertainment centres, competitive socialising venues, and theme parks.

Accessibility has also been a priority as the attraction is fully ADA-compliant. During playtesting, a guest with a support dog completed the experience with their family, demonstrating CONDUCTR’s dedication to inclusive design.

Jos van der Steen, co-founder and COO of CONDUCTR, adds: “Challenge Rooms fixes everything that’s broken about escape rooms; they’re faster, smarter, and built to last.

"From a business perspective, the throughput and repeatability is game-changing, but what excites me most is how creative teams can take this framework and build their own worlds around it. It’s a true platform for innovation.”

Thoroughly playtested at CONDUCTR’s Manchester HQ, the attraction’s operational model has been fine-tuned through live guest testing to enhance timing, flow, and scoring. The concept has already been deployed at multiple international venues, with new versions under development.

The project follows a significant milestone for CONDUCTR, which was named one of LDC’s Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders 2025 in October and received the International Award for its contributions to global creative technology.

Last month, the company also announced the launch of a new Middle East hub, marking its third regional base alongside its UK headquarters and US operations.
