Falcon’s Beyond Global, a fully integrated development enterprise for IP-driven parks, resorts, media and merchandise has announced robust growth numbers for its newly launched BEYONDLAND experience on the Roblox global online platform.
Since its release in March, BEYONDLAND—which serves as Falcon’s first foray into developing on the Roblox platform—has drawn more than two million visitors. Additionally, it has reached over 196,000 players in a single day and boasts a 93% positive approval rating.
A virtual world to explore
BEYONDLAND is designed to serve as a hub where many franchises and brands can coexist. The hub world, which is designed like a theme park, has social areas, access to a variety of games, rides and attractions, activities, digital products and collectables. There is also a customised area where users may construct and share roller coasters with their friends.
The first brand activation at BEYONDLAND is a reinvention of the company’s Katmandu Park theme parks, including portals into The Hidden Realms, each with its own distinctive gaming genre.
The Volcano Deathrun footrace, the Treehouse Challenge obstacle course, and the multi-player tag game Space Zombie Survival are just a few of the games available in The Hidden Realms. Katmandu Park also features gamified attractions like the Wheel of Infinite Wonder carousel, Expedition Golf minigolf, a rollercoaster that circles the park, a bouncing Ferris wheel, a jet-powered launch tower, and several midway-style games.
Future BEYONDLAND expansions will include more brand activations and themed lands.
Bringing deeper levels of community and agency
“Following the successful opening of our Katmandu Park | Punta Cana, we are thrilled to have not only launched our own virtual theme park destination but also developed an enthusiastic fan base within the Roblox community, where players are clearly excited to let their imaginations run wild,” says Cecil D. Magpuri, CEO of Falcon’s.
“This is just the beginning of our work in the metaverse and adjacent platforms. We are bringing deeper levels of community and agency to the fans engaging in our properties, both virtual and physical.”
The company’s goal to activate and build partner and proprietary IP, including its Katmandu franchise, across all entertainment platforms is strengthened by the recent expansion of BEYONDLAND on Roblox. Themed entertainment destinations, video games, consumer goods, and media content are all included in this 360-degree activation.
This early success for BEYONDLAND follows the debut of the company’s first e-commerce website, Shop Falcon’s Beyond, the launch of the two-player trading card game Katmandu: Age Of Artifacts, and Katmandu: EtherMerge, a free merge-two mobile game that expands on the story and characters from the Katmandu franchise.
Via a binding merger agreement with FAST Acquisition Corp. II, a special purpose acquisition firm created by Doug Jacob and headed by Sandy Beall, Falcon’s Beyond announced plans to go public last year. The new combined business will be known as “Falcon’s Beyond Global, Inc.” after the transaction closes, and it is anticipated that it will be listed on Nasdaq under the ticker code “FBYD.”
Falcon’s Beyond Global recently appointed Simon Philips as president. Philips previously worked at Disney, Marvel and Moonbug Entertainment, and was a senior advisor to the Falcon’s Beyond board
