The new 4D cinema experience is now open at Clacton Pier

Simworx, the dynamic media attractions specialist, is celebrating the launch of its new 4D cinema experience Jurassic Pier, which opened to the public at Clacton Pier, UK on Saturday 27 May.

A weekend of events marked the opening of the new £500,000 experience, which joins an expanding range of attractions at the venue.

Step into prehistory

Visitors to Jurassic Pier journey into a primordial world. First, they take a walk-through interactive Dino safari. Here, explorers discover huge animatronic creatures, including an enormous eight-metre-long Tyrannosaurus-Rex, 4-metre-long Dilophosaurus and Velociraptor, Bambiraptor, and Pterosaur.

Guests then enter the 4D cinema for an immersive prehistoric experience where they stomp with Stegosaurs and fly with Tetradactylies. 24 3DOF cinema seats enhance the experience with in-theatre effects including leg ticklers, wind effects, smoke and water spray.

Opening weekend events

Andy Day, children’s TV presenter and the star of Andy’s Dinosaur Adventures, officially opened Jurassic Pier on Saturday 27 May. On Sunday 28 May, a fireworks display closed the opening weekend with dinosaur-themed music, lighting and lasers.

Billy Ball, director of Clacton Pier, comments on the interest in Jurassic Pier: “It has really caught the imagination and we have been getting inquiries about it for months. We are now finally at the point where families will get the chance to enjoy this totally immersive experience for themselves and we are looking forward to their reaction.”

Andy Roberts, COO at Simworx, says: “Working with Clacton Pier to develop this enticing
experience for families has been a lot of fun. Our team really enjoyed coming up with the concept and bringing it to life.”

Simworx launched its new Flying Theatre solution, the Pegasus Flying Theatre, at IAAPA Expo last year. The dynamic and scalable ride is suitable for a wide range of venues with various capacities and sizes. Simworx intends for Pegasus to be a solution to fit all without compromising on experience.
