Smeetz collaborates with Locarno Film Festival

News

Smeetz, a provider of smart all-in-one ticketing software for leisure and cultural attractions, has been selected as the official ticketing partner for a top event in Switzerland, the Locarno Film Festival. The festival operator required a seamless operation process, fast and effective ticketing, and quicker turnaround times. It also wanted to be able to unlock new opportunities for revenue growth.

The Locarno Film Festival, an internationally acclaimed film festival, takes place each year in Locarno, Switzerland. Established in 1946 and taking place this year from 2 – 12 August, it is one of the most prestigious film events in the world.

From online ticket sales to on-site registration and check-in, Smeetz will encompass the entire ticketing process.

A user-friendly solution

Smeetz’s user-friendly widget on the festival’s website allows attendees to simply purchase tickets and passes. The firm’s point-of-sale system will also be installed at the festival’s InfoPoints, enabling on-the-spot ticket sales. Plus, Smeetz has added a function in the booking flow that allows guests to donate to Cause We Care, an environmental sustainability effort organised in collaboration with myClimate.

Smeetz has seamlessly integrated with the festival management system to streamline operations. This allows for a continuous flow of ticketing data, reducing administrative responsibilities and increasing efficiency.

Locarno Film Festival will use the company’s access control system to accommodate the massive crowds. With thousands of guests expected over 11 days, Smeetz’s access management system will ensure a straightforward experience for all attendees.

Since December 2021, when the Locarno Film Festival communicated its precise requirements and discussed its vision for the festival’s ticketing system, the relationship between the Locarno Film Festival and Smeetz has been defined by painstaking preparation. Smeetz went to the Locarno Film Festival in 2022 to obtain a deeper understanding of onsite needs and to develop a personal relationship, allowing them to observe the festival atmosphere firsthand and meet with important stakeholders.

The Locarno Film Festival and Smeetz’s new partnership establishes the groundwork for future collaboration and growth. Smeetz’s data-driven approach will provide vital statistics and forecasts to the Locarno Film Festival, allowing it to make educated decisions about programming, capacity planning, and resource allocation.

Unified commerce platform combines festival operations

Smeetz’s ability to create personalised solutions that address the specific issues faced by festival organisers is one of its primary assets. Smeetz guarantees that every aspect of the attendee’s experience is optimised for ease and enjoyment, from a smooth and hassle-free customer journey that includes easy ticket and merchandise purchases to mobile ticket accessibility and seamless event entrance.

Furthermore, Smeetz’s unified commerce platform combines many festival operations into a single comprehensive solution. This covers ticketing, retail, food and beverage, point of sale, marketing automation, revenue management, and other services. Smeetz simplifies operations, boosts productivity, and reduces the need for several disconnected systems by unifying these critical functions.

Smeetz also delivers essential data insights, allowing festival organisers to make informed decisions and identify the potential for growth. Organisers may fine-tune their strategy, optimise revenue sources, and improve the entire festival experience with real-time analytics and extensive reporting. Finally, the easy connection with current systems guarantees a smooth transition and speedy onboarding for organisers. This enables events to begin ticket sales as soon as possible, without any needless delays or hassles.

The firm has worked with other leading festivals, including Caprices Festival, Afterseason, Naturklang, MX Project, Polaris Festival, No Tomorrow Event, Chocolate Festival, and many more.

Last month, Smeetz announced the launch of a new waiver feature for its cutting-edge platform. Designed to enhance convenience, safety, and efficiency, the firm’s online waivers empower operators and improve the visitor experience.
