Disneyland Paris has announced it will reopen Big Thunder Mountain on 21 June following several months of renovations.
Located in Frontierland, Big Thunder Mountain is a classic coaster providing a family-friendly ride experience.
The attraction closed in January for a renovation led by Walt Disney Imagineering’s teams in Paris.
Work on the ride included the in-depth maintenance of its tunnels and rails, with some stretches completely replaced.
Also, the mountain itself was cleaned using drones, and some of the ride’s water, visual and sound effects have been reworked or restored.

Scenery including the Mill Camp tower has been dismantled for restoration and then reinstalled, while hundreds of elements throughout the attraction and queue line have been cleaned and repainted.
The coaster‘s animal figures, including the mules, opossums and bats, were restored and repainted, and some were given a new coat.
Over at Disneyland Paris’ Walt Disney Studios Park, a €2 billion transformation is taking place. The park is nearly doubling in size and will become Disney Adventure World from next year.
As part of the rebrand, the park has overhauled its entrance area, with the former Disney Studio 1 building near the gates now open as World Premiere.
Highlights at Disney Adventure World include the new World of Frozen land, a new area themed to The Lion King, and new attractions inspired by Tangled and Up.
Natacha Rafalski, présidente of Disneyland Paris, told blooloop: “We are in the midst of an unprecedented transformation across Disneyland Paris, truly on a scale we have never seen before.”
