Universal Orlando has opened its first Epic Universe hotel, the Universal Stella Nova Resort, home to 750 rooms, and cosmic-themed F&B options and amenities.
Adjacent to Epic Universe, the new Universal hotel was created by the award-winning Universal Creative team and is co-owned and operated by Loews Hotels.
It’s designed to reflect the infinite vastness of the universe, Universal said in a press release. For example, the guest rooms feature space station-themed windows, while dining venues include Cosmos Cafe and Market, Galaxy Bar and Galaxy Grill.
Highlights also include a resort-style pool with a splash pad and fire pit, a fitness centre, a game room, and the Universal Studios Store.

The next Epic Universe hotel to open will be the Universal Terra Luna Resort, which is scheduled for launch on 25 February.
The third hotel for Epic Universe is the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, which includes a dedicated entrance to the theme park. This is inspired by the astronomical and mythological themes of Celestial Park, one of Epic Universe’s five themed lands.
The other lands are: Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.
These lands will house more than 50 attractions, entertainment experiences, and retail and F&B outlets. Across Epic Universe, immersive technologies will be utilised.
Universal Stella Nova Resort now open
Epic Universe opens on 22 May, joining Universal Orlando’s existing theme parks – Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Volcano Bay.
“We’re so excited,” Eric Marshall, senior vice president of North American destination sales at Universal Destinations and Experiences, told blooloop.
He added: “Epic Universe is the big payoff, but it’s also part of a journey we’ve been on for over a decade. In 2014, we had just three hotels. By next year, we’ll have 11. That kind of growth is just incredible.”
