Riders will slide through a recreation of Australia’s Shark Bay seagrass meadow

SeaWorld’s Aquatica Orlando has announced Tassie’s Underwater Twist, described as Florida’s most immersive waterslide, for spring 2024.

Manufactured by WhiteWater, a leading waterpark manufacturer, Tassie’s Underwater Twist takes riders through a recreation of Australia’s Shark Bay seagrass meadow.

The 129-foot-long slide includes a super-bowl element for riders on a two-person inner tube. Once inside the bowl, they are surrounded by seagrass meadows and schools of fish.

Additionally, Tassie’s Underwater Twist features synchronised video projections and a musical score.

Tassie’s Underwater Twist is set to redefine the thrill of aquatic adventures at Aquatica Orlando”, said Brad Gilmour, president of Aquatica Orlando.

“As we eagerly anticipate the grand opening next spring 2024, this immersive attraction promises a whirlwind of wonder and adrenaline-pumping twists.

“We’ve crafted an experience that will not only delight slide enthusiasts, but also create lasting memories for families and friends.

“With Tassie’s Underwater Twist, we invite guests to dive into an underwater world of wonder, where fun and excitement meet curiosity and education.”

At IAAPA Expo last month, SeaWorld Orlando unveiled the ride vehicle for its new Penguin Trek roller coaster.

Also set to open in spring 2024, Penguin Trek is SeaWorld Orlando’s first family launch coaster. It is manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M).

SeaWorld’s new attractions for 2024 include a jellyfish experience at SeaWorld San Diego, and the Catapult Falls launched flume coaster at SeaWorld San Antonio.

Elsewhere, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will add the Phoenix Rising suspended coaster, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg will launch the restored Loch Ness Monster coaster.
