Creative Studio Berlin, the experiential design firm founded by Chris Lange, has marked its first opening of 2025 with the launch of Crocodile Island at the Park of Poland’s Suntago Water Park.

Crocodile Island opened on 17 January 2025, ready for Poland’s winter school holidays. As a combination of a family entertainment centre and water park, the new land is designed to cater for families and younger guests.

The beautiful tropical jungle island is interspersed with colourful, organic architecture and structures, created by its resident animals. As guests explore the island, they will learn ways to better treat our planet and the creatures that inhabit it.

Idan Greidinger, CEO of Park of Poland, says: “Creative Studio Berlin was in charge from concept to opening. In close collaboration with the Suntago team, they transformed the 1,000 sqm area into a highly themed playground like no other water park has. Only open for just a couple of days, it’s already our guests’ favorite. Families love to immerse themselves into the world of our mascots Jay, Meggy and Otto at Crocodile Island.”

Suntago Water Park is the first phase of the Park of Poland resort development and spans a total of 20 hectares. As Europe’s largest indoor water park, it has a daily capacity of 15,000 visitors.

Activities for all ages

The new land features four primary zones. Each offers activities for different age groups, with unique games, interactives, climbing structures, and surprises to discover. Guests can easily flow between areas as they explore.

The zones include:

  • Boat. The entry portal and an interactive play zone with lots to discover on deck.
  • Beach. The littlest kids can enjoy a zone with different play areas, interactive projections, building activities, and a live entertainment stage where they can sing along with mascot Jay.
  • Rainforest. A verdant jungle area for older children to explore. Activities include a huge rainforest tree with an educational game where kids will feel, listen, and smell; Gold Wash, an interactive projection table island-forming game; and a big soft-play structure where kids can expend some energy.
  • Ruins. Designed for teenagers, this zone invites guests to take part in a variety of contests with challenges that include a custom-made reaction game with water sprays, an Eli Play challenge game, and more.

Dominik Wieland, CSB art director overseeing the project, says: “After developing the concept back in 2022, CSB finally began with the production of Crocodile Island in March 2024 under a compressed timeline with less than 10 months to opening.

“To ensure we deliver the highest quality we had to be very efficient with our design and production process, fortunately, we worked with our trusted partners like Universal Rocks, Art Department Studio Babelsberg, TreeLocate and Bentin Projects, among many others.”

Creative Studio Berlin recently shared details of its project to develop the new Play Shipyard at Schloss Dankern, a unique vacation destination in Germany. The multi-million-euro transformation project presents an innovative approach to storytelling and visitor experiences.
